Our friends and neighbors send their kids to the British International School, arguably the best school in Vietnam. I hadn't even thought about school for Jackson, since he's only 3.5 months, but my friends told me about an Infant/Parent class at BIS, so I decided to take J and my dad to check it out. I loved it!! So my parents will take J every Monday, which will be great bonding time for them and alleviate some of my guilt of going back to work. Of course I already love BIS, and plan on sending little J there when he's older. Who doesn't want the best school for their kids? I just never thought I'd be that parent, who is already predetermining where my 3.5 month old will attend school 2 or 3 years from now (yes, they have a toddler program). There is a wait-list to attend BIS, so of course to get him enrolled in the Infant/Parent class gives him a leg-up on all the other kids who will be applying (phew). AND, it's BRITISH, which is important to both me and Johnny (some of you may or may not know that we are Anglophiles (Definition of Anglophile: One who admires England (insert Scotland) and all things English (insert Scottish)). Alas, I'm that parent and am proud to be that parent. As a strong believer that education is everything, my new motto is, when in Vietnam, do as the expats and rich Vietnamese do, send the kids to BIS!
